Or ice day as in my case.

B and I were both sent home early from work Monday. Heh, great way to start a Monday. And I have tomorrow (Tuesday) off as well. Hopefully hubs does too. I have big plans for the day. They may or may not include Mamma Mia.

So here is to an almost five day weekend and finally getting some real winter type weather.

Servo, is not as excited about the weather as I am. Poor guy.

(Don’t mind the dead monkey in the floor.)

His and Her’s. Pretty sweet, right? To quote my friend Kacee, “Did you get a retirement plan with those?”

So they may not be the most glamorous pieces of furniture we have purchased, but they sure are the most comfortable. Holy cow are they comfortable. And they are huge!

My feet don’t even touch the ground! It’s like Alice in Wonderland.

Last night, B and I ordered pizza and watch all our favorite shows. We didn’t leave the chairs for two hours! I can see this becoming a serious problem in the near future. Especially with the snow/sleet mix that moved into town today. The only thing I can think about today is getting back home to snuggle in my wonderful chair with cozy blankets and hot chocolate.

“Inside goooood, outside baaadddd,” Joey Tribbiani.

Zoey and Servo have already claimed their spots. They stick to the his and her’s rule as well.

If you need me, you know where to find me. Bring food and Dr. Pepper when you come.

I realize that winter isn’t even here yet, so technically I guess these are things I hate about fall, but I love fall. I would never libel fall, so I am blaming winter.

1. Double the laundry! When the weather gets colder I start wearing socks again, doubling the amount of socks in the laundry and the amount of socks that disappear for no reason. Also, B starts wearing undershirts and I hate folding t-shirts. I hang everything, but unfortunately we don’t have room in the closet to hang 40 Hanes white t-shirts.

2. Static electricity. Grr, as if my baby fine hair didn’t have enough problems holding any kind of style. No matter how much hairspray I use, how much conditioner I apply or how many times I de-static my hairbrush, the second I walk outside my hair stands up. Do you know how annoying it is to have tiny pieces of hair static clinging to your face?

3. Defrosting the car. I am always running late. I can’t factor in an additional five minutes in the morning to defrost my windshield. I am hoping now that B and I carpool this won’t be an issue. I just have to train him to factor in five extra minutes!

4. Being cold. I think that one goes without saying. It is not so much the cold that kills me, it is the bundling up for the cold that I hate. I hate jackets. Maybe if I had a super cute collection of winter coats I wouldn’t mind. But right now, I hate trying to bundle up especially when the weather is still in the in between phase. It is freezing in the morning, but warm in the afternoon (at least warm in the sun) and the cold again at night. I think I prefer all or nothing when it starts dropping below 32 degrees. Then I know what to expect morning, noon and night.

5. No more naked Sundays. Or at least until we break down and turn on the heat. Brrr!

But I guess winter isn’t all bad. I do love Thanksgiving and Christmas. Winter is the season when I get to spending the most time with my family. And of course I can’t forget my baby girl.

When winter hits, Zoey becomes a sweet, cuddly little girl. She will sit for hours wrapped in a blanket in my lap. She is not a fan a winter either, but I love the docile baby she becomes. She even appreciates it when I dress her up! Anything for added warmth I guess.

Do you hate the changing season as well? I can’t be the only cold weather complainer. Though I will say, between summer and winter, I would choose winter every time. The only thing I hate more than being cold is being hot!

I think everyone is in a sugary chocolate induced coma today. It’s too quiet around the office today. Nobody is answering the phone, no returned emails and I think everyone decided to take a two hour lunch. Hello? Bueller? Bueller?

B and I had a fantastic sushi dinner last night. I start salivating just thinking about it. Too bad a never crowded, secret sushi restaurant has been discovered by everyone! We waited almost an hour to get our food. Poor sushi chef was barking out orders to everyone. That hour wait sure was worth it though. *drool*

The weather has turned brutal today. There better be some snow with these freezing temperatures or I am going to be sorely disappointed. Yes, I said it. I want snow. I live in Oklahoma, we only get snow a few times in the winter and it almost always melts the next day. Since B is from Michigan he can’t understand this wishful thinking. Snow is a pain in the butt to him. To me, it’s a glorious free day where everything closes and you get to play in the backyard until you fingers go numb.

I hope everyone’s blood sugar level returns to normal soon (including mine in case you couldn’t tell from this rambling). I need some entertainment around here. Oh and, TGIF!

Boy oh boy. I wanted some winter weather but this is bad. B and I consider ourselves very luck. We never lost power more than a quick flash yesterday. Getting out this morning for work really showed us how bad it could have been. Most of the stoplights were out and tree limbs litter the streets. As beautiful as I think trees are, I am very thankful we only have one small on in our front yard. The city workers will be busy for weeks to come.

I am not sure what the weathermen estimated, but I would say we had a good half inch of ice.

It is very pretty, as long as you are not looking at the poor trees. I feel awful for the people without power and a yard full of down branches.

See pretty. No trees. B and I both had work off yesterday (Monday). We snuggled with the puppies and ate our weight in junk food. We weren’t very prepared for the ice storm so we headed out to 7-11 for much needed crap (dr. pepper, funyuns and beef jerky- just the essentials of course). Look at what we had to get through before we could get in the car!

Our lone tree didn’t suffer much damage, just one branch broke. But, check out our neighbor’s tree. This doesn’t even compare to the damage we saw this morning.

Pretty bad. Poor Zoey has barely gone outside since Sunday. Her first venture out into the yard was a disaster. Poor girl slide off the back deck into the icy yard. She then froze. Eventually she made it across the yard to the non-frozen spot.

Oh and the best part, when I did make it to work this morning, I came in to find my entire desk space wet. Apparently the roof leaks where I sit. Let’s hope my computer still works once everything dries out.
