I am aware that Valentine’s Day was four days ago. Seeing as how I did not give B his gift until Monday, I consider this a timely post. If you follow me on Flickr you have probably noticed I am still uploading Christmas pictures. Just be thankful this isn’t a Christmas post.

Despite the fact that I forgot about Valentine’s Day, my thoughtful and understanding husband did not. I woke up Saturday to chocolate, a stuffed animal and a sweet card. Now before you roll your eyes, you should know that B and I don’t make a big stink about this particular holiday. We decided to buy ourselves something we wanted instead of celebrating with fancy gifts or dinner. I bought myself some much needed spring clothes and B bought a not so much needed computer monitor. (He is probably going to try to defend his purchase in the comments, just ignore him.)

But back to the sweetness of my husband. He really is a wonderful man. He did not act disappointed when I had nothing for him on Valentine’s Day. When he finally received his card on Monday he appreciated it just the same and even praised me for saving money. Forgetting the holiday does have benefits, I was able to hit up the 50 percent off rack!

I had this whole post thought out where I would go on and on about how wonderful B is. But instead of making you sicker than the chocolate sugar high you have been on since Saturday, I will just post this video that explains it all.

Any soup fans out there? No, not as in cold weather comfort food, I am talking about The Soup. With Joel McHale.

I am a big fan! And how could you not be when you get recaps of the best moments in tv. Who needs to watch every reality show out there when Joel tells you what you missed, minus all the annoying drama.

Here is what you missed this week:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUbsc_a-e3g

Sorry I can’t embed the video. Just click the link though. Trust me. It is worth it.

How could you resist? My awesome YouTube linkage and also the dog in the video.

P.S. Campus closed tomorrow as well. Hello three days off work this. I am working on a five day weekend here. Sweet!

P.P.S. Running low on food and entertainment. Send help. Or just food. Whatever.

Remember baby Henry? Little boy cow baby Henry? Well, Henry is not much of baby anymore. Henry will be celebrating his first birthday at the end of this month. And baby Henry has gotten big.

But lucky for me, he still loves people and he continues to be babied by my parents (despite what my dad tries to say). I say lucky for me because growing up I always wanted to pet a cow when we visited the farm. One time I actually succeeded, but it was just one quick pet through a fence before the cow decided she had had enough of me. That is not the case with Henry. Henry let me pet him as long as I was willing to stand there, or as long as there was a promise of food.

Henry was just like a puppy. A very large puppy. As soon as I had food in my hand he began circling me and nipping at my jacket.

He wasn’t camera shy either.

Like at all.

Henry liked Zoey too. At least through the fence.

But Henry’s favorite thing of all is his dinner. We bonded.

Zoey and B have always had a special relationship. She is a daddy’s girl through and through, but B doesn’t always love the attention she gives him.

Their bond goes back to the day Zoey came to live with us. I had to work until seven that night so B was home with Zoey about five hours before I got there. Zoey bonded with B first. At first was I very upset about this, now, not so much.

Aww, baby Zoey. Be still my heart.

You see, being Zoey’s favorite is not all sunshine and rainbows. In fact, most of the time it is annoying. Zoey just can’t get enough of B.

It think it would be easier to just show you what it means to be Zoey’s favorite.

That is Zoey’s favorite game. All day, every day.

Not so fun, especially not after four years. You will never hear me complaining about not being the favorite!

I watched the ridiculous musical video blog and IT WAS HILARIOUS!

Do you like Neil Patrick Harris? Do you like Nathan Fillion? Then go here and watch Act I? Yes, it is 13 minutes of your life you will never get back, but it is worth it.

The best part, Act II comes out tomorrow (July 17). Awesome.

Bet you didn’t know that about me. I am pretty sure this is the first time I have been on television, but my mom would have to confirm that. (And no, I was not the toothless wonder on the news describing the sound a tornado makes. Just had to put that out there, this is Oklahoma.)

Sunday, B and I volunteered (volunteered isn’t the best term to use because it was kind of mandatory) to answer phones during our local PBS station’s pledge drive. My work does this twice a year and since I am the new girl, it was important that I be there. B was forced into it because of his association with me! He’s a lucky guy.

We actually had fun, plus they fed us and provided an endless amount of peanut M&Ms for me to devour! Since B and I are huge dorks, we tivoed the entire thing so we could see how many times we were on tv. And, since I have no shame, the video has been uploaded to YouTube so I can share my fame (humiliation?) with everyone!

Enjoy!

The second to last clip is the most embarrassing! I look like I just got caught doing something. Good thing nobody over the age of 75 watches the PBS pledge drive. Of course, I just posted this on the internet for all my friends and family to see. Yep, no shame. That’s me!

So who wants my autograph now?

The other day I happened to stumble across this blog. Yes, a whole blog dedicated to Babysitter’s Club books. Reading through some of the posts stirred another memory.

Does anyone remember the Babysitter’s Club TV show? I don’t remember the show actually being on TV, but my way cooler best friend (whose parents got her her own phone line) had some of the shows on VHS. Remember the theme song?

I hope you aren’t singing that song the rest of the day like I have been. Sorry about that.

Anyway, in the midst of all this reminiscing and nostalgia, I came across my best YouTube find to date. It is the most perfect combination of my childhood obsession and my present day crush. You have to see it to believe it!

Total and utter awesomeness. I am half tempted to search eBay to see if I can find the entire 13 episodes of the Babysitter’s Club TV show! Too bad I don’t own a VHS player anymore. I am fairly certain these puppies won’t be released on DVD any time soon.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

B and I are not big celebrators of this holiday. We usually buy a card and use it as an excuse to get some material items we have been eyeing. I am getting a new camera lens, should be here next week! I am not sure what B has picked out. He was talking about some Xbox 360 games.

This year, to add a twist to things, B and I are making our Valentine’s Day cards. That episode of friends keeps popping into my head. “Make the presents! Make the presents!”

That one! Thank you YouTube.

So again, Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone. I leave you with a little love.
