Ever have one of those days where you just know you should have stayed in bed? That was yesterday for me and boy was it a doozy!

Apparently on Wednesday night/Thursday morning, a torrential downpour came through Oklahoma. I was too busy sleeping like a log to notice. So when it came time to leave for work Thursday morning, I thought nothing of checking the weather report. Mistake number one.

B and I get halfway to our destination when we see a road closed sign. We carelessly thought it was for one of the dinky backroads that often gets flooded. We continue on our journey. Mistake number two.

We found out what that road closed sign meant. It meant the ROAD WAS CLOSED! Well why didn’t they say that in the first place! So we U-turn with the 10 other idiots who also thought the sign didn’t apply to them. After back-tracking a few miles we turn down one of the dinky backroads. Remember when I said they often flood, yeah, that was mistake number three.

At this point, I was laughing hysterically trying to convince B we should give up and go get back in bed. Determined and frustrated B had other plans, and apparently some work to do that day.

It only got more convoluted from there. Perpendicular to our route to work was major road construction. That major road construction had detour signs set up all over the dinky backroads. B and I thought the detour signs were directing traffic through the flood. This brings us to mistake number four.

Finally after 45 minutes of rights, lefts and U-turns, we made it to the highway. Only to realize we could only get on the highway in the opposite direction of the way we needed to go! I will leave out the profanity that was now spewing out of B’s mouth. We had to drive five miles north before we could finally exit, turn around and head south.

After all that, I finally made it to work an hour late. I walked in, set my stuff down and the roof above my desk was leaking. I should have stayed in bed. Mistake number five.

Well that was a short lived emotional roller coaster. Did anyone see the People magazine article announcing my own personal dream come true? Apparently, most of you did and I am just a day late and a dollar short.

The article said the New Kids on the Block were planning a comeback! Hells ya! Now I could finally make amends with my only regret in life.

Just as I was planning my new life as a groupie, I found out this rumor has already been squashed. There is still a lot of rumor and speculation flying around about a reunion tour and their dormant website is now back and running, www.nkotb.com. That has got to say something, right?

I will continue to cross my fingers, but maybe holding my breathe is too much.

So after my post earlier I started to feel a little guilty. What a cop out. I just posted someone else’s thoughts. That’s not a blog entry. I am denying my <strike>readers</strike> reader my true original thoughts. So I thought I would post again, something more enthralling than Jamie Lynn Spears getting knocked up.

Let’s talk about regrets. While browsing Mrs. Nodders blog, since this is apparently where I get all my ideas, I remembered one of my greatest regrets in life. I don’t regret much, but when I do it’s big. How big you ask? Well when I was a young tike, I think around early elementary school, I was offered the chance of a lifetime. I was invited to go to a New Kids on the Block concert. Unfortunately that same weekend the family was going to DeKalb, Texas, my mother’s hometown. I was forced to turn down my chance to see Jordan Knight live in concert. Devasting I know. To this day I still regret this missed opportunity. I mean, would you look at this guy. Who wouldn’t love him? Who wouldn’t love all of them?

Um, wow. This look into my past is getting scary, is it not? I appoligize. I know there are some closet NKOTB fans who will relate to my story. You can sympathize with me, right?

So there you have it. My biggest regret thus far.
