For the first time in ages my Monday went off without a hitch. Dare I say it was down right enjoyable? Amazing what spending quality time with your husband, fresh air and groceries can do for a person’s mood.

It all started Friday when my office decided to take a long lunch and hang out at the Medieval Fair. What, it was work related! I am glad I went Friday because I never got a chance to head back out there. I love the Medieval Fair. It’s prime for people watching.

Saturday B and I got up early to run some errands. Somehow in the midst of our shopping we ended up at Lowe’s with the idea to build a stone patio off of our screen porch. We have been wanted to do something for months now due to the uneven ground and lack of grass. Outside the doggie door we have a horrible mud pit that forms when the slightest bit of moisture is in the air. I promise I will posted some before and after pictures once we finish. Here is a sneak peak for now.

We are 65% finished. Thanks to yet another freezing weather change we were unable to finish Sunday.

Between the freezing temperatures, the 40 mile per hour wind and the incredible pain we were in from our hard work the day before, B and I decided to have a nice, relaxing Sunday. And by nice and relaxing I mean shopping! Both of us bought new sneakers and some spring clothes. We also did major grocery shopping.

Speaking of grocery shopping, I must brag about my new hobby. Coupon clipping! Two weeks ago B signed us up for the Wednesday and Sunday newspaper. So maybe I only care about the sale flyers and comics, it is only $4.50 a month. And the paper has already paid for itself! Two weeks worth of coupons has already saved me $70.

Now the goal is to use those groceries. I have set a goal of taking my lunch to work at least four days a week. Tonight we made dinner, first time it wasn’t from a box or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in months! It has only been one day, but one day at a time right?

So how was your Monday? Is anybody out there having a nice spring? I am so ready to be outside! Stupid weather.

I am resisting with all my might the Facebook virus going around asking you to post 25 random things about yourself. Almost caved yesterday when I read the hilarious TIME magazine article. I mean if TIME is talking about it, how could you not be a part of the movement?

Lucky for me, Sara over at McGinness Clan, gave me an out. Bloggers have been passing around this five question interview and I volunteered because five is easier than 25, and I like Sara.

So let’s get started! Here are the questions Sara sent me.

1) What is your ideal date with B?

I am going to take ideal to also mean practical, so I would say a sushi dinner and a movie on the big screen at the new theater in town. I am pretty easy! Generally I just love being with B, whether that means a romantic night on the town or shopping at Walmart in sweatpants. Sushi and movies are two passions we share together so I think it would be the perfect date night for both of us.

2) If you were a super hero what would your super powers be?

Can I only choose one power? That is impossible! I think I would choose flying. It just sounds cool. Plus I could travel a lot more since I wouldn’t have to worry about the ridiculous price of airline tickets. Can I also choose super metabolism? I love food, I just wish food didn’t love me so much. The power to be skinny no matter what would be awesome!

3) List your top ten places you want to visit that you have never been to?

New Zealand, Hawaii, Spain, Maine (haha, that rhymes!), Oregon, Italy, Swizterland, France, San Fransisco and Washington D.C. I have only been out of the country three times (the Dominican Republic, Los Cabos, Mexico and Vancouver, Canada) so I have a ton of places on my list. And until I met my Michigan born husband, the furthest north I had been was Colorado. I didn’t fly on an airplane until I was 16, so I have some catching up to do.

4) Are you okay with your blog not being anonymous, with a last name like Sagowitz people can google you and find your blog, have you ever thought about it? Do you care? Do you care about what you write because people can find your blog through your name?

I am ok not being anonymous. The domain sagowitz.com has been owned by B for six years or so. When I first entered the picture, B and I used it as a photo host for our families. Then it became the wedding website in 2006, finally I made it a blog late 2007. I didn’t really start blogging for our friends and family, but I also wasn’t going to hide the blog from them.

I do think about B’s past finding me. Not that it bothers me, but I just wonder if his ex-girlfriends have ever looked at the site and wondered about his other half. Probably not, but it still crosses my mind, being the “voice” of the family.

I do filter myself to some extent and try to keep private matters private. I think about coworkers finding this (and I know some have). If I don’t want my boss to know something, I don’t blog about it. Sometimes I hate not being about to lay it all on the line, but I find other outlets for that stuff.

5) If you were on a deserted island and could only bring three things what would you bring?

Way to save the hardest question for last Sara. Chapstick would be a must! I am addicted and after my horrible lipburn experience in Los Cabos, I will never be in the sun without lip protection again. I think I would bring B with me too. (Sorry babe!) B is pretty handy, he is strong and he would keep me entertained. I can’t imagine not having someone to talk to. And lastly, I think I would bring a knife. Seems like something you would need. Unless B is bringing the knife. If I bring a person as one of my items can my person bring three items as well? Hopefully B will have more practical items to keep us alive!

Thanks for the great questions Sara! Even though you made me think, I still think this was easier than 25 random facts. If anyone wants their chance to be asked five questions by me, leave me a comment and I will send five random questions your way.

Oh blog world, how I have missed you! I did not mean to become so lame and forsaking. I promise I have so many great things swirling around just dying to get out, but unfortunately work has taken over my life. Weird, right? People work, like for money? I took on some added responsibility recently and until the new system is worked out it is going to be messy.

I am going to take time out of my busy day to talk to you about something super important. Grease 2. More like the awesomeness that is Grease 2. Like the best sequel ever. Even the best movie ever. Certainly the best soundtrack to a movie ever. Hi, my name is Megan and I freaking love Grease 2. (Yes I know I have rambled about this before, but bear with me. You won’t regret it.)

Recently I have been on a mission to find the Grease 2 soundtrack. Cool Rider is the best song ever and I feel the need to listen to it weekly. It is my energy song. If I worked out, I would just play Cool Rider on repeat for an hour. Well, that and Who’s that Guy, second best song ever, also from Grease 2.

Last weekend I finally found the elusive Grease 2 soundtrack. Can you believe stores don’t regularly stock this item? I know, shocking! After weeks of looking, digging though racks of CDs and dusting off forgotten CDs in the back, I found my soundtrack. And have been listening to it ever since.

Remember when B made me admit to liking Katy Perry? Yeah, I am trying to wear him down so he will admit to liking Grease 2. After a week straight of listening he has yet to weaken, or so he says, I did catch him humming Let’s Bowl yesterday.

Also, my friends friend has been requesting that I drive to lunch lately. I am not going to ignore the coincidence that this request started as soon as I purchased the Grease 2 soundtrack. You just can’t deny its greatness! Though she hasn’t actually seen the movie. She did offer to explain to plot to anyone else out there who hasn’t seen the movie. She did a great job, but I will admit she didn’t quite capture the luster…

C-OO-L R-I-D-E-R, by Kacee

OK. Michelle P-fiffer (no, I’m not going to look up how to spell it) gets to school and she’s all “I’m a badass Pink Lady… vroom vroom.” and Rex Manning from Empire Records is like “I’m Sandy’s brother or cousin or something… aka, I’m a good boy.” It’s Grease but backwards! How clever. Someone in the T-Birds gets mad and flirts about something, whilst singing a song about the greatness of bowling. Then Michelle sings Cooooooooooooooool Rider (and climbs a ladder) and Rex Manning is all “dude, I’ve gotta be a badass to get that chick.” Then we learn about sex with a song about flowers. Then they sing some more songs and fall in love. Somewhere in all of that they sing Megan’s second favorite song “Who’s That Guy” or “Who’s That Man” I don’t remember. Then it ends, I guess.

Not bad, right? Doesn’t it make you want to see the movie now! If you aren’t convinced, these excerpts will certainly seal the deal.

Please take note of the ladder at the 1:30 mark. Next time I am asked what my talents are, I am so pulling out a ladder. I have about got the dance down.

You have been enlightened now. You are welcome. I promise more posts in the near future. I cannot promise that they won’t all be about Grease 2.

You know you are totally going to have these songs stuck in your head all weekend, you are welcome for that too.

Also, this is probably my longest blog post ever. Grease 2 is just too important to skimp on the details.

Oh, hi there. No I promise I have not forgotten you. This has just been one of those busy weeks where my creative energy is nonexistent. I promise I will be back soon, in all my hilarious glory. What’s that, you don’t think I am funny? Well who asked you anyway. I am the funniest person I know.

I moved into a new (temporary) office today. Really I haven’t had a real office since last July when my original office flooded. Some remodeling is finally being done to replace carpet, but in the meantime we were moved to a new building. A completely remodeled building. Basically I am chaining myself to the desk and refusing to ever leave. Moving was such a pain I don’t even want to think about doing it again in a month. Oh the best part, my new office use to be a hotel room so I have my own private bathroom! Pretty cool, right?

Besides moving, this has been the week of doctor’s appointments. B had one Monday and I had one Wednesday. Add the drive time and waiting room time and you are looking at almost six hours wasted just to see two doctors for 30 minutes.

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook let me just say now, NO, I AM NOT PREGNANT. I have tweeted several times recently about trying to see the doctor. Since I AM NOT PREGNANT, my appointment kept getting bumped by women who were pregnant and going into labor. This happened twice in the last week alone. I finally got to see the doctor after 4 scheduled appointments and when I announced my joy on Twitter and Facebook I caused some confusion.

Some people took that innocent message to mean it took four tries to get pregnant. It is not secret that B and I are looking to start that chapter in our life, but it hasn’t happened yet. All day yesterday I was getting comments, emails and text messages out the wazoo. Sorry folks, I wish I had an announcement that exciting, but that isn’t the case yet. I promise to keep you posted. And quit talking about going to the doctor.

So what is new in your neck of the woods?

So Happy New Year from the Sagowitz home.

I am pretty sure I will be ringing in the new year alone. I lost the dogs around 9 p.m. I don’t think B is going to make it to midnight either.

Excuse me while I pull myself out of a reclusive coma. I was already exhausted after my weekend in Dallas where I indulged in the free wedding open bar(s) and then last week I came down with a horrible cold. Yuck.

This cold has been going around the workplace and I after a brief meeting with a sick coworker, I quickly went down. It probably didn’t help either that we didn’t have heat in the house until Friday. There was no hope for me. I have been off work since Wednesday. Not great timing with Thanksgiving just around the corner.

But, here it is Sunday night and I have made a full recovery. I am ready to get out of the house. It gets rather boring around here when you haven’t seen the outdoors in at least 72 hours. Remind me not to become an agoraphobic anytime soon. I am booooooooooored!

You would think I would have used this time wisely, but no, not so much. I finally unpacked and did all my laundry from last weekend and I watch a ton of movies. But, as far as accomplishing anything of substance, nope. I did nothing. I could have started my online Christmas shopping, or posted on the blog. Shoot, even keeping up with my Google reader would have been an accomplishment. I did nothing. And it was awesome. Of course now, with a clear head and energy, I kind of regret all that. Oh well, it was nice being a bum while I had the chance. I haven’t been sick, sick in years (knock on wood), and at least now I will be rested for the holidays to kick into full gear.

Oh, and don’t worry. I had company while I was in my reclusive coma. Servo and Zoey are the world’s best nappers. They kept me nice and toasty all week.

So internets, what did I miss? Any late breaking news? Any great gossip? I will try to be more interesting this next week. Maybe even post a picture or two.

This was my first time to vote on Election Day at an actual polling place. Go me! It was very exciting, but I was super disappointed to find out I didn’t get a curtain to stand behind. Bummer.

Our polling place official told us in the last election, our district had 52 total voters. At 8:30 a.m., I was the 180th person to turn in a ballot. Sweet!

We stood in line 45 minutes, can anyone top that?

The first poll closes in 3 hours*, get out and vote!

*As of writing this at 2 p.m. Central Standard Time. Also, let’s pretend that is a shadow in the picture and not a horrible makeup line on my chin. Yikes.

It has been awhile since I shared some random (or weird) facts about myself, so what perfect timing for LauReality to tag me to share seven more.

1. Did you know my husband, B, is 12 years older than me? Most people don’t know since B has such a young face. Also, B is a big kid who still enjoys his toys, while I consider myself to be pretty mature and responsible for my age. We balance each other out perfectly. But just to weird you out, I entered first grade when B was graduating high school! We love playing that game with people who don’t know us. Consider it our party trick.

2. I am scared of the deep end in swimming pools. This fear has drastically calmed down with age, but I still won’t swim to the bottom and don’t even think about asking me to touch the drain. And it is not a fear of being sucked into the drain, it is a fear of something coming out of the drain. Something like Jaws. Yes, I know, that is ridiculous, but for the longest time I really thought Jaws lived in the deep end of pools.

3. As a child, my favorite make believe game was pretending to be Ariel and marrying Eric, my prince charming. Except the problem was this game only worked when I was at my friend’s house and we were playing in her hot tub. Since we both couldn’t marry the prince, we pretended Ariel had a twin sister and Eric had a twin brother. We would swim around in circles pretending our legs didn’t work waiting for our prince to come rescue us. Active imagination much?

4. I am not a big seafood fan, but I have yet to get tired of sushi. I could eat sushi everyday if my wallet allowed it. I love all kinds of sushi too. Salmon, tuna, eel, yellowtail, crap, shrimp … the list goes on. But seafood, like Red Lobster, I only order the popcorn shrimp and I only enjoying going to a seafood restaurant every few months. It wasn’t until I discovered my love for sushi that I stopped ordering hamburgers at seafood restaurants.

5. I am the baby of the family and the only girl on all sides. That explains a lot about my *somewhat* spoiled tendencies. I can’t help it that I married a man who lets me get away with these *somewhat* spoiled tendencies. Don’t let B tell you otherwise, he gets away with a lot too.

6. I have an unnatural attraction to water, or vice versa. Water won’t leave me alone! I can’t go near water without it ending up all over me. Taking a drink, down my shirt. Washing my face, all over me and the bathroom. Doing dishes, water everywhere. I don’t know what the problem is, but it only occurs with water. I think I need water rehab.

7. When I was around junior high age, I went through a serious cowboy phase. Perfect time to start wearing boots to school, because puberty wasn’t enough trauma. And it wasn’t just wearing boots, I owned Rockies, and wore them, in public. I even had a purple pair. I had red boots and black boots and brown lace-up boots. I listened to country music all day every day. I wanted to marry a cowboy when I grew up. And yes, I grew up in Texas, so this might not seem to weird, but I grew up in Dallas, TX. No farmland in sight. My classmates were straight from a Gap ad. And there I was, wearing purple pocketless jeans. No wonder I hated junior high!

I am suppose to tag seven people now, but this has gone around the blogs like wildfire this week. I don’t think I have seven people to tag who haven’t already participated. If you want to do it, just do it, you can say I forced you.
