It is that time of year again! No, I am not talking about spring (though blue skies, blooming flowers… LOVE!), I am talking about charity walk season. From now until June I think you can find an event every weekend. If you need some inspiration to get outdoors, I highly recommend this method.

But let’s be honest, I love my Saturday sleep-ins a little too much, so I focus on one charity walk. The one that matters most to our family. The MS Walk.

As some of you know, B has multiple sclerosis. He was diagnosed December 1998, a little more than ten years ago. While it has been a mild and, for the most part, healthy ten years, B and I hope every day that a cure is found.

Because this is a cause near and dear to us, we will doing the MS Walk again this year. B and I are rounding up a team for the Oklahoma City walk. Remember last year? Best. Time. Ever. My parents, brother, sister-in-law and niece all came in town for the event. We had family, friends, coworkers and friends of friends all join our team. I am starting my recruitment efforts later this year, but I am hoping we have an even bigger turn out. I have already recruited two team members, bring our team total to seven so far.

If anyone is going to be in Oklahoma next month, sign up! The walk is going to be at the Oklahoma City Zoo again. Who doesn’t love the zoo? If it wasn’t for the charity walks we sign up for I don’t think I would ever get B to take me to the zoo. This will be the fourth year in a row I have managed to sneak a trip in!

Our team webpage is http://main.nationalmssociety.org/goto/sagowitz. Please pass this link on to all your friends!

We hope to see everyone at the zoo April 25!

An alternate title to this post could be “Return of the Dip Queen.”

Oh yeah, that’s right. I put my stellar dip making skills to use again. And let me just tell you, I have not gotten rusty. This time I tried out a fantastic spinach dip that I have had bookmarked for months now. Ok fine, it was just the recipe on the Lipton Vegetable Soup mix, but every time I go to a party someone makes this dip and I love it, but I have never tried it myself.

But let’s get back to the party for one for a second. My friend Kacee, who recently started a blog, casually mentioned that she was going to be home alone watching the Oscars Sunday night. I took that to mean PARTY at my place! Anyone who knows me personally, knows that I cannot have people over without a clean house. And if I am going to clean the whole house top to bottom, I guess I should provide some kind of roughage. And well, if I am going to buy snacks, I guess I could make some of my awesome dips to go along with it all. Who is the Food Network woman who does Semi-homemade? That is me. I always need to throw something in the mix that I actually made.

And that is how the party for one got started. I made spinach dip, tortilla roll ups and my favorite, jalapeno jelly with cream cheese. I also had a french onion dip, salsa, queso and crab dip. I am not sure why the hostess bug bit me, maybe I was channeling Monica from Friends, “I am always the hostess!” Maybe it was because my mom and Memaw are coming in town and staying for FIVE days! (I need to brush up my Martha Stewart skills before they get here!) Or maybe I just didn’t want to cook dinner for a week. How much spinach dip do you think one person can eat before it starts turning their skin green?

All in all, it was a great night. And it didn’t hurt that the Oscars didn’t suck this year. I love me some Hugh Jackman and I almost came unglued when he started busting out songs from Grease.

This weekend one of my best friend’s got married in Dallas. It was a beautiful wedding (remind me to show you the amazing centerpieces later). I enjoyed being back in my home town and seeing some friends I haven’t seen in years. I also enjoyed getting a small taste of the world of wedding photography. And let me just say, HOLY CRAP, I have a new found appreciation for wedding photogs. The pressure! It probably doesn’t help matters that I was completely unprepared (my fault, not the brides).

Mandi, the beautiful bride and great friend of mine, asked if I would take pictures at the wedding rehearsal. I was planning on taking some pictures anyway, so of course I agreed. I brought my camera, flash, spare batteries, extra lens… I was ready to go. Heh. Notice I didn’t list memory card. I packed my whole camera bag and never bothered to check if there was a memory card in the camera, let alone a spare card in the bag. Nothing like running to CVS to buy a cheap memory card that is way over priced. Also, I found out at the rehearsal, my flash had corroded batteries in it so it wouldn’t work. Spare batteries don’t do much good when the flash won’t work period. I also found out at the rehearsal that my camera battery was almost dead. Luckily, I had a spare that had a little bit more charge and I brought my charger. Whew, stress. I was panicked that I wouldn’t have a single shot worth anything.

Thank goodness for digital cameras. I took close to 300 pictures and I have about 40 to work with. It was fun getting to use my camera for something besides pictures of my dogs, but I don’t think I want start booking jobs anytime soon.

Enough about me though, how about I share some of my favorite shots from the rehearsal.

Later in the week (or next month knowing my track record) I will post pictures from the wedding. B and I had a little too much fun, but it was worth it. We never get a wild weekend away with no responsibilities!

While I still recover from my awesome vacation (and go through the 700+ pictures) I need to say thanks to a few people before I forget.

Did you love the guest bloggers? I certainly did. I was so entertained it kind of makes me want to always have guest bloggers! I am always entertained by myself, but the element of surprise on my own website was awesome. Maybe I should just plan another vacation so I have an excuse to use guest bloggers.

A big thanks to LauReality and her insightful post. Now I know who to complain to when B is trying to convince me we need some hot new state-of-the-art technology. Lauryn feels my pain.

And of course thanks to B for his special, mostly honest post. One day I will share my side of the story. His version isn’t wrong, he just left out a few details;) By the way, Naturally Wrong is his new nickname.

Thanks to Sohobutterfly, our resident Canadian. I think you confused my American friends, but I found the tips very useful! I even tried poutine (and liked it) during my international stay. My mom was convinced that picture was real and was mad at me for not emailing her any of my vacation photos! Nice photoshopping.

I also found who to go to when Zoey destroys yet another monkey! Sara from McGinness Clan understands my troubles. Thanks Sara for the great post! And remind me not to let Zoey see the Maggie Method.

And finally, thank you to Steph from Those Corwins. I just now got my fondue pot cleaned and packed away and I now I am going to have to pull it out again. I love me some fondue. Maybe I will just try your method and forgo the pot. Melted cheese is melted cheese, right?

I do have one more thanks to give today. Some of you may have noticed the new look at Naturally Right. My amazingly talented friend, Traci, surprised me once again with a sweet new blog header! Thanks Traci, I didn’t even have to beg this time! Now I just have to adjust my colors and the look will be complete.

Thanks again to everyone for helping me keep this place up and running!

Bitch. Mother Nature, not Jenna.

That yellow arrow is pointing to the location of my mini vacation. That yellow arrow is also pointing to the location of Jenna’s wedding. See the white highlighted area out in the middle of the ocean? Yeah, that is the location of Jenna’s honeymoon cruise. Crap.

So um, Mother Nature… you are wickedly awesome and so very beautiful. I am so humbled that you read my little ole blog. Could you do me a favor? Knock. It. Off.

Hugs and Kisses! Megan.

I have this friend. Yes, I have a friend, shut up. She will probably deny knowing me, but I swear she is a friend. Even if I have to stalk her when she comes in town and buy her lunch just so she will hang out with me. Whatever.

So my friend, she is borderline crazy, but lucky for her it is the entertaining kind of crazy and not the scared for your life crazy. You can’t blame her though. She lives in a town that is only famous for the world’s tallest hill. Seriously, it exists. Look it up.

Yesterday, while forcing my friend to hang out with me she casual mentioned having a banjo like it was a perfectly normal item to have in the house. Any other banjo owners out there, speak now. No one? That is what I thought.

This is not my friend. Or is it?

Come to find out my friend (I feel like I should be putting that word in quotes) actually plays the banjo. She is one of those people that has the awesome talent of being able to play any instrument with no lessons whatsoever. She plays by ear. Bitch.

One day many years ago, my friend decided she needed a party trick. Banjo it is. I am still trying to figure out what bet she lost. Her reasoning was the guitar was to cliché. Alright, I can understand wanting to have a unique talent, but a banjo, really?

Not only does my friend argue that her banjo playing skills make her infinitely cooler, she promises it will make me cooler by association. So does it? Does knowing that I have a friend who can play the banjo make me cooler or does it just make me an Oklahoman?

Discuss.

Monday, Monday, Monday. It is so hard to come back to work and get in the swing of working when you had a fantabulous weekend! What is better than hanging out with friends, hanging out with more friends, spending the day by the pool and napping all day Sunday?

Did I tell you Jenna is getting married? Jenna is one of my dear college/sorority friends. Meet Jenna…

Jenna is the one flirting with the camera. Jenna loves the camera.

Anyway, Jenna is getting married. So this weekend we had a bridal shower pool party in Jenna’s honor. Marcie, Jenna’s bestie, threw the shin-dig together. Have you met Marcie?

Marcie doesn’t love the camera as much as Jenna, but she is a good sport.

So Marcie threw the party for Jenna. The girls reunited for swimming, sun, thousands of posed pictures with cheeky sorority smiles and food.

Can we talk about the food?

I love party food. Hello tortilla rollups. Do you want to come home with me? No, then how about hanging out on my ass for the next 10 years? I knew you would oblige.

Speaking of food and my ego, I was officially crowned the dip queen at this party. Every party needs a dip right? Ahem.

After some food and then some swimming and then some more food things got a little crazy. The girls got a little wild.

That is the closest you will ever get to a picture of me in a swimsuit on the Internet. Big kahonas, I do not have. Well a big something, sure. Ha!

And as the cocktails kept flowing the camera kept clicking.

I was the sober one at the party. I was also the one behind the camera. *Insert evil laugh here*

And finally, toward the end of the day, it came to this.

I am not really sure what is going on here. I think Jenna was concerned Larissa’s heart had stopped beating. Or maybe Jenna was just admiring Larissa’s breasts… with her ear. I can’t explain it folks, I can just post it on the Internet.

If I possessed some mad camera skills I would have much more “wild” to offer you. Unfortunately, when people are moving fast I just get blurry photos so the best moments were gone before I could focus.

I will leave you with the cutest chicky at the party.

Excuse me, ovaries, shut up! I tried to take the kid home and she was having none of it.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Hi, my name is Megan and I have a blog. Not exactly the way you introduce yourself. Most of the people who read my blog are fellow bloggers. Bloggers that I read and converse with who in turn return the favor to my little ole blog. Hi blogger friends!

It’s not that I hide my blog, hello google my name and you found me! This website use to be our wedding website. Our family and friends knew about sagowitz.com at one time, so they could easily find it again. They might be reading right now. Hi friends and family.

But now I know friends know and the pressure is huge!

This weekend we had a girls’ party/reunion/bridal shower and word got out about my blog. A few friends knew about it, only one actually reads. Hi Jenna!

Everyone wanted to know what I blog about. How do you answer that? To me, I think my blog is hilarious. I am my own best audience. But seriously, I blog about nothing and everything. My daily life, random conversations I have with B, my dogs, things I like, things I don’t like… really it is pretty mundane. But to me, it is fun.

Now my closest friends all know about my blog and they say they are going to stop by. Ahh! Not that I have anything to hide or be embarrassed by, but it is just different (weird? awkward? totally awesome? I am not sure.).

So, hi friends! Don’t judge me if you think I am just as unfunny online as I am in real life. I will always think I am funny in both. Maybe I am just overthinking it and everyone had too many club specials to remember the blog talk.

Stay tuned for girls gone wild pictures. Except minus the gone wild part because one of us is a mother, one of us is married, two of us are engaged and we are all just old.

Yeah, we had a great weekend. I will post some more pictures and get back to my usual entertaining (at least in my head) self later in the week. Right now I need about 10 more hours of sleep and six Dr. Peppers. First one to make that happen wins brownie points!

Have you heard about BlogHer? Specifically BlogHer 2008, the conference? I am sure most of your have, but for my limited nonblogging audience it is the conference where a bunch of fellow bloggers get together and <strike>drink</strike> <strike>gossip</strike> um, I am not really sure what goes on, I have never been.

Well this weekend I am having my own little BlogHer in Oklahoma. Everyone is invited! Just kidding, only you are invited. I don’t have enough towels for everyone. LauReality (and my brother-in-law) are coming to visit this weekend!

Can I tell you how excited I am about meeting a fellow blogger? I know a few of my daily reads in real life already, but this is the first person I will meet strictly knowing them from a blog. Oh, and that whole she is dating my brother-in-law, but that is not important. Blogging comes before family. (That was good, I should copyright that.)

We plan on doing a little drinking, a little eating and lots of picture taking. I have also never had a fellow photographer to pal around with and seek out cool things to snap pictures of. Awesome! Now maybe I will have enough things to talk about to get me through another week.

Now if the weather would just calm down. I don’t want to scare our company away by forcing them to hang out in our tornado closet with the dogs.
