Free time? Is that you?!? Where have you been this year? March is almost over and I can’t remember what you look like anymore.

(Alright, so that is a bit dramatic. What do you expect, drama is my middle name. Or is it trouble. Or brat. No, B I am not open to suggestions. You either MOM!)

Anyway, remember this blog I had. And how I would post almost every weekday. I was really funny. (So the voices in my head tell me.) Then things got crazy. Work things. My job got much, much busier. I would come home at work and refuse to turn on the computer. I stopped reading other blogs. I cleared my feed reader. (The horror!) Life on the Interweb ceased to exist.

Well, I am not saying I am back. But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. (Knock on wood times 1,000! Karma, don’t you ruin this for me.) I hope to return to my normal hilarious status soon. I really miss being the funniest person I know.

But, just in case I am totally lying to you, I will leave you with this:

and this:

I made the first LOL (and it wasn’t even my original idea, it was her’s), the second one was done by the creative users of http://ihasahotdog.com/.

I am resisting with all my might the Facebook virus going around asking you to post 25 random things about yourself. Almost caved yesterday when I read the hilarious TIME magazine article. I mean if TIME is talking about it, how could you not be a part of the movement?

Lucky for me, Sara over at McGinness Clan, gave me an out. Bloggers have been passing around this five question interview and I volunteered because five is easier than 25, and I like Sara.

So let’s get started! Here are the questions Sara sent me.

1) What is your ideal date with B?

I am going to take ideal to also mean practical, so I would say a sushi dinner and a movie on the big screen at the new theater in town. I am pretty easy! Generally I just love being with B, whether that means a romantic night on the town or shopping at Walmart in sweatpants. Sushi and movies are two passions we share together so I think it would be the perfect date night for both of us.

2) If you were a super hero what would your super powers be?

Can I only choose one power? That is impossible! I think I would choose flying. It just sounds cool. Plus I could travel a lot more since I wouldn’t have to worry about the ridiculous price of airline tickets. Can I also choose super metabolism? I love food, I just wish food didn’t love me so much. The power to be skinny no matter what would be awesome!

3) List your top ten places you want to visit that you have never been to?

New Zealand, Hawaii, Spain, Maine (haha, that rhymes!), Oregon, Italy, Swizterland, France, San Fransisco and Washington D.C. I have only been out of the country three times (the Dominican Republic, Los Cabos, Mexico and Vancouver, Canada) so I have a ton of places on my list. And until I met my Michigan born husband, the furthest north I had been was Colorado. I didn’t fly on an airplane until I was 16, so I have some catching up to do.

4) Are you okay with your blog not being anonymous, with a last name like Sagowitz people can google you and find your blog, have you ever thought about it? Do you care? Do you care about what you write because people can find your blog through your name?

I am ok not being anonymous. The domain sagowitz.com has been owned by B for six years or so. When I first entered the picture, B and I used it as a photo host for our families. Then it became the wedding website in 2006, finally I made it a blog late 2007. I didn’t really start blogging for our friends and family, but I also wasn’t going to hide the blog from them.

I do think about B’s past finding me. Not that it bothers me, but I just wonder if his ex-girlfriends have ever looked at the site and wondered about his other half. Probably not, but it still crosses my mind, being the “voice” of the family.

I do filter myself to some extent and try to keep private matters private. I think about coworkers finding this (and I know some have). If I don’t want my boss to know something, I don’t blog about it. Sometimes I hate not being about to lay it all on the line, but I find other outlets for that stuff.

5) If you were on a deserted island and could only bring three things what would you bring?

Way to save the hardest question for last Sara. Chapstick would be a must! I am addicted and after my horrible lipburn experience in Los Cabos, I will never be in the sun without lip protection again. I think I would bring B with me too. (Sorry babe!) B is pretty handy, he is strong and he would keep me entertained. I can’t imagine not having someone to talk to. And lastly, I think I would bring a knife. Seems like something you would need. Unless B is bringing the knife. If I bring a person as one of my items can my person bring three items as well? Hopefully B will have more practical items to keep us alive!

Thanks for the great questions Sara! Even though you made me think, I still think this was easier than 25 random facts. If anyone wants their chance to be asked five questions by me, leave me a comment and I will send five random questions your way.

First, can we talk about what a weird word collide is? It just looks weird. Guess I don’t use it enough in my daily life.

Anyway, what I am really here to talk about is blogging. Blogging free and open with no concern about who might be reading.

Is it weird that I feel I could blog with no regard if I was completely anonymous? I am sure many people feel that way. How come it is easier to confess your secrets, fears, hopes and dreams when you don’t know who is listening, or reading as the case may be. Shouldn’t a person confess those things to the people closest to them? Why is it the people closest to you are the judgments you worry about most? Maybe it is just me.

I always knew when I started blogging I would keep some level of censorship to my writing. For my mom’s sake, and my job’s sake. For the most part I keep the language in check, the marriage details clean and the gossip to a minimum. But with all that, is this really a personal blog?

There are days when my mind is elsewhere and I just want to lay it all on the line. Spill my guts to anyone and everyone, just to get it off my chest. But then I think, do I really want everyone knowing that. Do I want my boss to find that? Or maybe one of B’s ex-girlfriends. No, not really. I don’t know who is reading here, but I do know if someone was looking for me (or really anyone in the Sagowitz family), they would find this.

Sometimes I think about closing up shop and going completely anonymous. But is that really even possible? I love talking about my life and my family so I think eventually I would be found again.

I also love knowing that family and friends are reading. I love that my biggest fan is one of my bestest friends. That is how it should be, right? I love that I have a niece I have never even met before reading my blog. (Hi Amber!) I would hate to lose that connection to family and friends, but it does make me think twice about my subject matter.

How do other bloggers do it? Are they just that open with everyone that they don’t care who reads what? Is everyone struggling with the same censorship? Or are the carefree bloggers the ones who are anonymous? Maybe it is a combination of all three. Blogging is an interesting and every changing medium. I love this place and identity I have made for myself online, but how far is too far.
