I <3 geeks.

Hello Naturally Right readers! For those of you who don’t know me, I am Lauryn and I am very excited to be one of Megan’s guest bloggers this week while she and B are enjoying Canada, eh!

Megan and I have a special blogging relationship. We actually know each other! Like, for realsies. She is married to my boyfriend’s brother. Follow? So my main squeeze (Matt) is her brother-in-law.

Actually, Megan probably doesn’t even know this but she’s the reason I started blogging in the first place! Matt had shown me this site and I was very intrigued by the whole concept. I was also eager to learn more about the two family members I heard him talking about the most. Before long I jumped on the bandwagon and started LauReality!

We actually met in person for the first time in May when Matt and I went to Oklahoma for a visit. It was great to finally meet the woman behind the blog after I’d been checking out Naturally Right for so long. We stuffed our faces with good food, took lots of pictures, and enjoyed a little too much beer.

That may or may not be me drunkenly laying my head down on the table at the sushi restaurant we went to. I cannot say.

Beyond our love for booze, raw fish, and sharing our thoughts and feelings on the internet, Megan and I have an even stronger bond; we are in love with Sagowitz men.

Our sweet, thoughtful, dedicated guys are geeks to the core. I don’t think I’ve ever known two men over 30 who get so jazzed about a new video game coming out, or who run over to the toy aisle in Target when they spot a kid-size model of the Death Star (Matt, I’m looking at you).

Me: What are B and Megan up to this weekend?

Matt: I don’t know, but B is at a LAN party.

Me: [Silence] As in, local area network? They have parties for that?

This love for gadgets and gigabytes goes back to when they were kids and it allows them to share their excitement even though they are many states away.

Although many eyes have rolled over this hobby of theirs, I’m sure Megan will agree that there is something endearing about it. Being passionate about something keeps you young at heart, and if all it takes to put a smile on their faces is a dude flying over the English Channel with a jet pack, well, then that’s great. We love our geeks.

Besides, while they’re jabbering about their computers we’re usually blogging in the other room. I guess they found their matches.

So what is your man passionate about? What brings out the “geek” inside and makes him smile like a little kid on Christmas morning?
