TV is eating my brain.

My husband decided to upgrade our cable to digital cable last week.  Without conferring with me.  Not that I mind the extra $10 a month for twice as many HD channels, but I do mind the TWICE as many channels!  Once I discovered the science channel, national geographic channel and discovery channel (all HD!), my weekend was screwed.

I did not leave my house once all weekend.  I did not put on makeup once all weekend.  I did not put on anything but pajamas all weekend.  I totally showered though.  I promise.

Not that I had any big plans for the weekend.  I was looking forward to relaxing and not having anywhere to be.  I even rented two movies.  So watching tv was my main goal, but I didn’t plan on it to take over!

If I wasn’t watching tv, I was reading a book.  It was wonderful, but I am kind of regretting it this week.  I think my brain is in a stupified coma.  Too much lazy makes it hard to get back to work.

And of course, once I did find some energy on Monday and I started getting back into the swing of things, I come home to find out Heroes is starting the new season.  Not only is it a two hour premiere, there is also a one hour countdown/preshow before hand.  That is three hours of Heroes.  And of course I watched them all.  My ass was implanted on the couch from 7-10 p.m., minus the bathroom breaks.

(Did you watch Heroes last night?  Can we talk about how awesome it was?  Way to kick off the new season NBC!  That should shut the naysayers mouths for awhile.  Heroes is back, baby!)

My fall plan to get outdoors more is looking bleak.  I need help!  Someone, people take away the cable and make the awesome new shows go away!  I blame the writers strike.  And my husband.  I think I have just been starved for new tv for so long, I don’t know how to walk away.  Just say no, Megan.  It’s not like we can’t record six channels at the same time.  The tv will wait for me.  How many times do you think I have to repeat that before it sinks in?

It is said that if you do something 50 times it becomes a habit. I believe you have proven the point…..50 hours of tv—-habit formed! Since that is a done deal, are there any more lofty goals? 1, 2, 3, 4, ….50!

six channels at the same time-that is fridiculous!!!! not to say that I am not mildly jealous. I totally have weekends like that and sometimes don’t know how I survived before we got our TiVo.
