The Blooper Reel

In case you missed it, I was a guest blogger over at Sohobutterfly last weekend. Soho is a fellow Boston Terrier and Mutt-dog owner, so of course I had to feature Zoey and Servo in my post.  You should go check out their How To instructions, complete with pictures.  (Do it, it pertains to this post.)

You back yet?  Cute pictures, right?  Well, in order to get those cute pictures, I had to take about a million not so cute pictures.  In between the dogs’ lack of cooperation and my lack of photography skills, let’s just say there are a lot of picture to delete.  Before I go emptying my memory card, I thought I would share some of the funnier outtakes with my readers reader (Hi Mom! [Did I tell you I totally guilted my Mom into reading my blog]).

First was Servo with his foot obsession.  Have I told you about his foot obsession?  Yeah, my dog is a weirdo.  He is lucky I like him or this could cause some serious problems.  If you deny Servo the foot he will just stare at you, occasionally nudging or pawing at your feet.  It is best to just give in to the love.

Servo got a little carried away here.  He was trying to eat my foot.  I know… some of you are thinking gross!  Eh, get over it.  I did.

Next I set up the breakfast in bed picture.  I don’t know what I was thinking.  Dogs, on my level, with food.  That was stupid.  Trying to get Servo to sit still and Zoey to sit next to Servo was a big mistake.

Servo was refusing to take his eyes off the food and Zoey was just mad to be that close to her brother.

Really mad.

She forgave me when I let her eat the Cheerios.  Again, I know… gross!  Yes, I let my dogs eat Cheerios out of my good dishes.  I told you people months ago I was a dog freak.  Get. over. it.

After the dogs were full of Cheerios, I decided to move on to the bath tub.  I was hoping the sugar rush/food coma would allow me to take a few quick shots before the dogs decided to turn against me.  This was the first picture I took.

Servo was already revolting and wiping the bubble off his head.

When he finally poked his head up, the bubbles were gone and I could tell he was planning his escape.

Wait for it…

Yep, he jumped out of the tub leaving one pissed off Boston Terrier behind.  Time to wrap up the bath session.

Finally we moved outside.  I figured that would make the dogs happy.  Unfortunately it was hot and extremely bright out, so while the dogs were happy, they ended up looking a little too happy.

Sup doooooooooodes….

Do ya got any cheezy poofs?

Yeah, my dogs look a little stoned.  Nice.

And then once again, Servo decided enough was enough.

Wait for it…

Almost…

Yep, we are done.

Does anyone have a well behaved, cooperative hound dog I can borrow?  It would make taking pictures of my favorite subjects so much easier.

One thing I did learn, I have mad respect for all the pet photographers of the world.  How do they do it?

I find Ellie in cute poses or doing something cute all the time…when I don’t have a camera! And of course by the time I get my camera she’s done. But occasionally I have been able to catch her in one of her “photograph me” moments.

Great pictures! I love it that you “guilted” your mom into reading your blog! Whereas I occasionally find out through various channels that my mom or other unexpected relatives are reading my blog so I’d better watch what I say! Oh well. Thanks for sharing those cutie puppy pics!

Why is it that everyone is posting cute pics of their animals lately? This is making it entirely too difficult for me to keep my solemn oath to remain pet-free for awhile. I already have 2 animals of the human variety running around, I’m not sure if I could handle any more at the moment.
