Collapsing slowly

*Warning!  An obnoxious, whiney, rambling complaint follows.  Look away now!  You have been warned.

Have I mentioned we are moving?  Oh right, about a hundred times.  Incase you are new, we are moving.

I would just like to interrupt here and say, I know people move all the time, everyday in fact.  I also know there are people who make much more drastic moves than our 30 minute location shift.  I still want to complain.

How in the world do people do it?  How do people move every few years or even less?  A friend of mine is one house number three (I think) in 10 years (again, I think).  Is she insane?  I can answer that, yes.

Moving sucks!  Moving sucks donkey balls.  I feel like life is slowly being drained out of me and I am shutting down.  I have barely even started packing!  That is the worst part.  I haven’t even reached total and complete exhaustion and I am done.  I am not even dealing with storage facilities, insurance companies, the bank, utilities; and I am done.  (A big thanks to B for calling those people for me!  You know how I get phone anxiety!)

Yesterday was a particularly moody day.  We found out our buyer wants to take possession of the house at closing.  I was crossing everything I have hoping we could “rent” our house a few days to get everything out.  How do people do this?  How do you spend an entire day signing papers and get everything from point A to point B?  Spending money to hire a company to move us is a ridiculous expense.  An expense we don’t have, or would rather spend on a new tv.

Remember when I offered you pizza and beer to come help?  Seriously.  Come help.  Come help before B goes crazy and I end up in the fetal position sucking my thumb.

Moving bites.

So close, yet so far.

Three weeks people.  Three weeks until the Big Day.

OK….I’m available for consultation. I actually organized the move of 3 households on the same day. Jamie sold her house to Ed, Jamie purchased Vicki’s house…Vicki moved 3 blocks over. They all had to be out of their homes (before closing) and close on the same day and move on the same day. We packed Jamie’s house into 2 rental trucks which we parked in Julie’s drive way the night before closing. We then packed Vicki’s house into 2 rental trucks and then the next day (after closing) got everyone unpacked into their prospective homes. I am the organizing queen! Need help….call Super Nanny Dani

I am laughing at the fetal thumb-sucking comment. I imagine you are huddled up in a corner in that position often.

I am on house #3 in less than 5 years. Ridiculous.

Uhm..sorry I am busy that day! There’s not enough beer and pizza in the world for me to help someone move.

Yep, moving sucks. Did it 2 years ago, and still not unpacked.
So, rent the Uhaul and pack it with all your stuff the day before so after closing you can drive it to your new house.
    Good luck!
